Claude for law firms

Connect AdvokatX to Claude and ask about hearings, tasks and cases in plain words. Off by default, read-only, switched on by the firm.

A lawyer asks Claude "which hearings do I have next week and what was last done on those cases?", and Claude puts the answer together from the data in AdvokatX - with the case number and a link to it. No copying cases into a chat, no exporting spreadsheets.

This connection is off by default. Only the firm's administrator can switch it on, for the roles they choose, and only for the kinds of data they allow.

What Claude can read

The firm chooses the groups; a user in any case sees only what they are otherwise allowed to see in the app.

Group What Claude sees
Search Cases, clients and companies by name or number, and the cases of one client
Cases A case card with its latest journal entries, and the user's own case list
Calendar Hearings and meetings in a chosen period, with the latest entry on each case
My tasks Tasks assigned to the user, open or overdue
Case journal A search of journal entries
Conflict of interest A check whether a name already appears in the firm

What Claude does not see or do

  • It changes nothing. It does not write, edit or delete data. The connection is read-only.
  • It does not see documents, invoices, payments or billing.
  • It does not see another firm. The connection is tied to your firm's address and to the account of the lawyer who signed in.
  • It does not get around permissions. A trainee without access to the Calendar does not see deadlines through Claude either.

How it is switched on

  1. The firm's administrator opens the Claude page in Settings and accepts the statement of responsibility.
  2. They choose which roles may connect and what Claude may see.
  3. A lawyer adds the firm's connector address in Claude (Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector), signs in with their AdvokatX account - password and two-factor confirmation - and approves access. On Claude Team and Enterprise accounts the owner of the Claude organisation adds the connector first, and lawyers then simply connect to it.

Who decides, and where the data goes

When a lawyer asks a question, the data Claude reads is transferred to Anthropic (USA), the company that provides Claude, and is processed under the terms of the firm's Claude account. AdvokatX sends this data to no one until the firm itself switches the connection on.

That is why the firm makes the decision, not us:

  • Off by default, for each firm separately.
  • A statement of responsibility before it is switched on - who accepted it and when is recorded.
  • We recommend Claude Team or Enterprise accounts, where data is not used for model training by default and a data processing agreement is available. Personal free accounts are not for client data.
  • Every read is recorded in the firm's log: who asked what, and when.
  • Switching it off cuts every connection at once. When the integration is switched back on, lawyers connect again. The same applies when a user is deactivated or their two-factor sign-in is reset.

Whether this use is consistent with the duty of lawyer-client confidentiality and with Serbian data protection law is for the firm to assess. We do not claim that it is met by default - which is why the decision is yours, and why the connection stays off until you switch it on.

Which language

Questions can be asked in any language. Claude answers in the language of the question, and the names of cases, parties and courts stay exactly as entered. For a foreign client you can ask for a short status overview of a case in their language - check the legal terms before sending.

Price

The Claude connection is included in every plan at no extra cost. The firm contracts and pays for its Claude account directly with Anthropic.
